Think about our compare and contrast activity from the book and the interview. In your opinion, which account (the book or the interview) gives you a better understanding of the story?

In the compare and contrast a lot of things were the same but in the interview it told more about what happened afterwards.

I feel like the interview was more emotionally detailed unike the book. Although the book covered more information about the camp. Both had distinctive parts that were not in the opposite media.

Compare and Contrast- I liked the book better than the interview. Yes the interview showed the real images, and stories. But the booked went through the whole time that he was actually in the camps.

I personally think the book told more of the actual story and the interview showed more of the actual feelings and the location and just the overall view of Elies experience at Auschwitz

The interview helped build the setting but did not go into as much detail about what he went through like the book did.

The book because he was able to express more of how it was in the interview he just told bits and pieces of the story but the book told everything

I think that the interview with Oprah was better for me because I could see the pictures of the dead Jews and saw the stuff that was left behind because the owners had perished.

I think the book is more detailed then the interview but the interview had more visuals. I liked them both, the book had more emotion and you could visualize what was going on and the interview you could actually see what the camps looked like and you could see some of the things that were in the book that you couldn't even imagine, like the hair and the shoes. I thought they were both great learning experiences, at least for me and I can't decide which one was better!!

The book tells you the whole story, but the interview gives you a visual. I think the book explains what happened better though

Honestly I like the book better it's more interesting in grabs your attention and gos into more detail about how life was and what they went through but the interview was also good it wasn't as exciting but learned a lot about the camps and life there too the video was slower and sadder but ofcourse it would be it's a difference between the time in writing a story that you went through then being back were it happened and actually speaking about it.
